As the world adjust to its new normal, amidst Covid-19, leaders begin to roll out new plans to re-open the economy. Pandemics take time and it will be awhile before we return to public life. The tail end of this return would include concerts, festivals, theaters and cinemas re-opening.
Hollywood stopped, movie premieres postponed releases and many wonder if it will ever go back to life as we knew it. Drive-ins may be a loophole and studios should take note!
Imagine you would be able to bring your snacks and blankets head to lot and BOOM Movie time!! A look in our past may be what we need the first drive-in theater was
Drive-ins began to decline in the 1970s and the ultimate low in the 2000s but it is not dead! It may just be the answer for bringing back the big screen to audiences According to Statista, In 2018, there were 5,869 cinema sites in the United States, a similar amount to the 5,942 recorded a decade earlier.
The only problem is the box office sales! There are simply a lot more places to sale tickets in theaters in comparison to Drive in- Statista, reported in 2019 that 321 Drive -ins remain.
Big studious have the credit to push back and postpone versus not selling at full capacity. But this can mean everything for Drive-In owners wanting to capitalize on the movie cinema across the country that are closed.
All they would need is to add waiters to tend to cars so that the stands won’t draw crowds and enforce social distancing at the bathrooms. Either way A drive-thru will open before the cinemas do but options are unlimited!
